In order to conform with recent legislation, we hereby inform you that this site sometimes uses unobtrusive cookies to store information on your computer.  Cookies are small text files which are stored by your internet Web Browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome) until you delete them, and are generally used to enhance internet performance by remembering your preferences and selections. They are used by most websites on the world wide web. However, we strive to keep cookies to a minimum.

Sometimes features on this site won't work properly without cookies. They may be set when you log in, submit a form, or interact with the site by doing something that goes beyond clicking on simple links.

We may also use some non-essential cookies to anonymously track visitors (e.g. a hit counter) or to enhance your experience of the site.

Please be aware that, if you wish, you can block some or all of these cookies by changing the settings in your Web Browser. The method of deleting cookies from your computer will be explained in the Help section of your Web Browser. If you do not wish to do this, continued use of this site implies consent to our use of these cookies.

Java and Active X: With the latest versions of Java, when you first open a page with active Java content you will receive a popup entitled Security Warning asking if you want to run the application. If you do not click ‘Run’ you will not be able to access the content, including the scrolling news marquees that are currently sited on the Home and Globe (News) pages. If access to any content is blocked and you get a popup with a message about java code, you need to update Java before you can view the content. As a precaution, in case this is a virus popup, don’t click on the link, but search in your browser for the official Java site, which will analyse your pc to see if you have the latest version. For your own peace of mind we are not providing you with a hyperlink to the official Java site here.

This website does not share any personal information with Third Parties. Your name and contact information will only be displayed against any submissions you provide with your consent.

Forums: The Forums are hosted at Serif Web Resources. In order to increase the hits we get on the website from interest generated through search engines, the forums may be on occasions be made viewable to the general public, although to post you will need to subscribe. If you join the forums please withhold any personal information that you do not wish to be made public, and as a defence against Spammers consider withholding your e-mail address, or using a disposable address rather than an important one. You can send Private Messages between other forum users without displaying an external e-mail address (see FAQ link at the top of the forum pages).

‘Like’ Buttons: We have deliberately used only the basic Facebook ‘like’ button, which does not collect or display your Username. Neither we nor other site visitors can determine your identity from information collected by this website or the Facebook demographic tools. If you wish us to know who you are, please send us a message via the Contact Form which includes your name in the relevant field (your email address can be withheld if you wish). We will see you Facebook identity if you ‘like’ our Facebook page (as opposed to this website), but you can withhold this by changing your Facebook privacy settings. For more information about the Google +1 button, see here.

Google AdSense: The vast majority of our pages will remain ad-free zones, but we have taken the decision to incorporate a small quantity of tastefully placed Google Ads into the site. Google uses cookies: you can read about Google’s use of these cookies and how to opt out of targeted adverts here, and you can learn more by clicking on Google’s AdChoices logo at the top of the ads. The use of these adverts will help keep adverts for ordinary community users free. If you see an advert that you think is contradictory to this site’s Objectives (as listed on the Home page of the Desktop site), please contact us because we can block specific advertisers - see the Contact link below.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information. Please note that the use of the Contact Form will employ a cookie, but you can immediately delete it from your Browser after sending the form, as explained above.
